UdK’s creative fashion-offspring shows again at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin at Bebelplatz

In an ambitious Fashion Show and by showcasing a creative variety of its current semester collections such as „Monocore“ with monochrome silhouettes offside boring monotony, „Toe to Top“ with outfits based on experimental shoe-design, or „Wolpertinger“ with strange, randomly design collages following the idea of a hermaphrodite, UdK again proves its excellent design expertise.

The show will be traditionally highlighted by this years graduates collections. The show often means an optimal warm up for further successful achievements for the graduates. Previous graduate Joel Horwitz won the "Designer for Tomorrow"-Award by P&C in January 2009, while his fellow student Marianne Musek won the European Fashion Award from the German apparel industry foundation.

For the 5th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, the fashion students again develop a promising individual show concept on international standard but offside the beaten catwalk track. An exclusively designed catalogue, under the creative direction of Meiré and Meiré, will project-related guide through the show and visually capture the students’ collections.

Anybody, who could not get a hold of show-tickets will soon get the chance to have a closer look at selected works from the students during the „Rundgang“ exhibition at fashion institute of UdK from July 17th to 20th. For more information please visit www.design.udk-berlin.de/modedesign.
