BLACK COFFEE AND RAMIREZ PRESENTED BY MERCEDES-BENZ

Black Coffee at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2010:
This season Black Coffee embraces a different approach. Fabric becomes more than an interesting covering – it develops a history by its process. Silk is uniquely folded into patterns and shapes with hand-dyed and beaded techniques giving the garments depth and life.

Cottons and linens are block printed Black Coffee has always looked at the past for inspiration. For summer 2010, faces are covered with over sized helmets and nets reminiscent of colonial Africa, combining contemporary colours, beading and printing that creates a look that is completely fresh, yet historic.

With a world full of technology Black Coffee returns to age old finishes to infuse garments with personality and charm. Coveted hand worked details brings an element of value to their signature draped multi functional pieces. The garments are modern, luxurious and loaded with ceremony. Black Coffee is winner of the Mercedes-Benz South Africa Award for Fashion Design 2009.
